On January 27th, iStudent – Institute for International Relations and Study Abroad in collaboration with International Schools of North America hold a very exciting and remarkable event named “World Culture Festival” for students.

With the topic “Passport to Future”, the festival is a place for students to learn about cultures of different nations through food, musical instruments, folk games and typical folk dances. Working in international education area, iStudent and SNA share an interest in equipping students with knowledge of integration as a passport for them to confidently step into the world.

The highlight of this festival is “Điểm một thời – Âm vang đất nước” art show “ by Designer Sĩ Hoàng, which was staged and performed very elaborately and impressively. The show reproduced Vietnamese traditional musical and artistic space with the sound of Vietnamese chanty, Lithophone, K’ní and the history of ao dai.

At the festival, the students were also able to immerse themselves in the world cultures through booth activities. A tour around the school yard reflected a tour around the world, where they could print from Dong Ho woodcut paintings, write in calligraphy on poonah-paper, dance with the Danish dancers, grill Australian sausages, try spicy rice cakes in exciting K-Pop background music or race against Superman and Spiderman – American popular cultural symbols. Hundreds of students were very eager to play and enjoy experiences in such a lively atmosphere.

“This is a wonderful day. I really love the festival and hope there’ll be more events like this, Passport to Future 2.0, 3.0 for example, where we’ll have more booths of many other countries such as India, China or Egypt. I really enjoy printing from Dong Ho paintings at Vietnamese booth, but the milk tea at Taiwan one was the best!” – said Bui Minh Lac, an 8th grader.
