NHG awarding scholarships to talents of the national science and technology competition 2019

Nguyen Hoang Group (NHG) has awarded 30 scholarship slots being worth more than VND 700 million to excellent candidates at the 2019 National science and technology competition in Northern and Southern Vietnam.

On the morning of March 19th, the science and technology competition – Southern area took place at HCMC with the participation of 409 students (229 projects) from 32 provinces and 2 high schools for the gifted.

In order to honor innovative ideas and technological solutions of students nationwide, NHG supported the MoET (the organizer of the contest) when awarding prizes to outstanding projects and excellent contestants in the competition.

Cultivating talents

At the contest in the Northern region taking place from March 9th to 12th, NHG supported VND 40 million to encourage the scientific research activities in some disadvantaged provinces (Ha Tinh; Quang Tri; Nghe An; Quang Binh; etc.).

In addition, top candidates will be recruited immediately to study engineering majors at NHG universities as well as receive scholarships for the first academic year; in details: 100% of tuition for the first prize; 70% of tuition for the second prize and 30% of tuition for the third prize.

Besides, attending the competition in the Southern region, Associate Professor, Dr. Thai Ba Can, Deputy CEO, university development affairs of NHG awarded 4 "Impressive" prizes, 3 "Unique" and 3 "Creative" prizes with a total value of VND 50 million to projects that NHG highly appreciated.

In particular, NHG awarded scholarships to some interesting topics such as: "Testing arena" of Thang Nhat high school, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province; "Table tennis machine" of Quan Co Thanh high school, An Giang province; "Multi-purpose ruler" of Phan Ngoc Hien high school, Bac Lieu province; "Smart parking system in school" of Le Quy Don high school, Khanh Hoa province; "Improved microscope" of Le Khiet high school, Quang Ngai province... From there, NHG hope to see science development in localities having the presence of NHG education system (18 provinces and cities nationwide).

Making dreams come true

Two students Phan Thuy Phuong Thao and Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thu, Gia Dinh high school, HCMC were awarded the NHG “creative prize” and also won the second prize of the competition. Besides, the project "software system to reproduce three-dimensional space in real time with smart cameras" of two students Huynh Lam Hai Dang, Bui Quang Minh, HCMC National high school for the gifted awarded “Imperssive prizes” by NHG also won the third prize in result.

At the contest, Hong Bang International University (HIU) awarded a full scholarship (100% tuition) worth VND 240 million for the first prize, partial scholarships (50% tuition) worth 120 million for the second prize at HIU.

Especially, for the students are in the 11th grade in the first and second prizes, if they wish to study at HIU when going to university, they will be recruited directly in to HIU and considered to receive living expenses and tuition fees until the end of grade 12.

Other universities in the NHG education system also offer attractive scholarships to top contestants: Hoa Sen University (HSU) awarded 1 scholarship worth VND 200 million, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) and Gia Dinh University (GDU) gave full scholarships to the first prize, partial scholarships for the second prize and 20% of the first year tuition for the third prize.
