NHG establishes Academic Council

In order to develop strong education quality of members in its K-12 systems (from kindergarten to grade 12), Nguyen Hoang Group (NHG) has established an Academic Council.

Accordingly, Dr. Do Manh Cuong, Deputy CEO, K-12 academic affairs will take the position of deputy chairman of NHG Academic Council. It is known that Dr. Do Manh Cuong have been 40 years of experience in education and specialized in teacher training. In the past, he also had 9 years as director of Research Institute for Professional Education and more than 13 years of teaching and managing at HCMC University of Technology and Education.

In particular, the Academic Council includes 13 members, who are national and foreign leading experts, long-term educational researchers and experienced educators. In which, there are Professor Le Xuan Hy, Director of the Institute of Human Development, University of Seattle (USA), who studied at Havard University; Professor Ngo Sy Dinh, University of Santo Tomas (Philippines); Professor, Dr. Ngo Ngoc Khanh, Deputy Director of Franciscan Academy (USA); Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Yen, Education Management Academy; Ms. Hoang Thi Da Huong, M.A in education, Pontifical Biblical Institute (Rome, Italy); etc.

According to the establishment decision, the mission of NHG Academic Council is to decide the strategies, policies, objectives, operational plans and resources for educational activities of the K-12 systems, approve the development strategy of the K-12 system, approve the training programs, engage in connection with national and international education systems and education experts.

Reaching out to the world

Dr. John Duy – An Nguyen, PhD. of information technology (George Mason University), senior vice president of National Geographic Global, consultant of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) spoke about the establishment of specialized departments of educational development and evaluation: “The direction is great and creates a good point of view to develop the group, especially when NHG focuses on education. I had a chance to visit Hong Bang International University (HIU) – a member of NHG. Within 3 years, HIU as well as NHG have made changes and begins to develop in a better way. Facing to coming important directions, I  hope that the departments and councils will have the right to implement that vision”.

Dr. Duy An also said that the support from international resources of NHG Academic Council will contribute to the group development, yet create challenges at the same time. “Collborations and relations with worldwide prestigious schools, institutes, organizations, etc. should be two-way: we learn from them and they learn from us. The programs, curriculums and systems, etc. should be approriate with reality in Vietnam”.
