On December 23rd, 2018, Vietnam Association of Architects in collaboration with Vietnam Construction Association, Central of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Ministry of Construction held the awarding ceremony of Loa Thanh 2018 award in Hanoi for 72 excellent university graduation projects. In which, there was the project “Trang Bang rice cake tourism center” of Nguyen Thi My Ngoc – architect student of Hong Bang International University (HIU).
Loa Thanh award is a noble one with national university students of architect and construction. Loa Thanh award recognizes the efforts of students in their process of doing graduation project, of which the criteria based on the creation and application of new science technologies into the projects.
Overcoming outstanding projects of students from other universities across the country, the project “Trang Bang rice cake tourism center” of My Ngoc made an impression due to its environmentally-friendly and especially the human factor of serving community.
“As a public building, I always pay attention to maximize safety for the project. When a fire occurs in the Vam Trang canal area, I use a fire-escape boat by taking water in the river to save the construction. For the exhibition and management areas, I combine 2 types of rescue: by river and by land, in addition I also create the best conditions for people with disabilities.” – shared by My Ngoc.
Not only winning Loa Thanh award, in her studies, My Ngoc was also awarded many scholarships from university and business partners. Especially, on January 6th, 2019, My Ngoc officially graduated as the valedictorian of the architect department.
Hopefully, the achievements of My Ngoc will contribute to inspire and encourage other students in the education system of NHG to work harder and strive more on their pathway of learning.
