HIU STUDENT WON AT NATIONAL INFORMATICS OLYMPIC CONTEST

On November 30th, 2018, at the 27th Vietnam Informatics Olympic contest for students (OLP), Do Nhat Truong, student of information technology faculty, Hong Bang International University (HIU) won the consolation prize and was promoted into the top 100 of Vietnamese informatics talented students.

Vietnam Informatics Olympic contest for students is organized by Vietnam Computer Association, Vietnam Student Association and Ministry of Education & Training to encourage Vietnamese students on their informatics studies and talents.

OLP 2018 was held in Ha Noi for 4 days from November 27th to 30th, attracting 250 teams from colleges and universities across the country and others from 5 countries and territories in Asia including: Japan; Korea; China; Indonesia; Taiwan.

This year, there were 3 contestants from HIU, Do Nhat Truong, Nguyen Hoang Vu – K15 and Tran Trong Nghia – K17 of the information technology faculty. Among them, Do Nhat Truong had the best performance and won the consolation prize, stepping into the top 100 of Vietnamese informatics talented students. In 2017, Do Nhat Truong also won the same achievements at this contest.

Originally held in 1992, OLP has become a useful playground for HIU students in particular, and young generations of Vietnam in general, to pursue their passion for informatics, to meet, exchange and learn from the national and international young informatics talents.
