Looking back at 10 notable events in 2022 of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University

Ba Ria - Vung Tau University held an announcement ceremony for appointing a new president; A ceremony of awarding scholarships and signing cooperation agreements with enterprises.

On the morning of September 7, 2022, at Pullman Vung Tau Hotel, Ba Ria Vung Tau University (BVU) held the ceremony to announce the decision to appoint Associate Professor Nguyen Thi Hoai Phuong as the new president. On this occasion, many businesses and organizations sponsored more than VND1.6 billion in scholarships for BVU students, and at the same time signed cooperation agreements with the university on training students’ activities.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau University welcomes Mr. Graham Stuart MP - the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Vietnam and the Delegation of the Consulate General of the United Kingdom to visit and witness the MOU signing ceremony between BVU and Pearson Education Group, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA).

The signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement between Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) and Pearson Education Group, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA) which took place on April 8, 2022, aimed at improving the quality of training for BVU students.

The President of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University joined the Minister of Education and Training delegation to attend the Transforming Education Summit in New York, USA.

The conference was chaired by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres with the participation of 200 countries and territories. Within the framework of the trip, the BVU president and the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training worked with The American Association for Higher Education & Accreditation; Visited and worked with Arizona State University, Columbia University; the United States Agency for International Development; Attended the Vietnam - US educational cooperation forum; Visited and worked with leaders of Microsoft Corporation, the US Educational Testing Service (ETS) and Intel Corporation.

Ba Ria University - Vung Tau: Training doctoral degree in Business Administration

On January 25, 2022, the Minister of Education and Training issued Decision No. 357/QD-BGDĐT permitting Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) to train doctoral degrees in Business Administration (Major code: 9340101). This is one of the important milestones, marking the growth and outstanding development of training capacity and quality, affirming the prestige and position of the University.

For the first time, Ba Ria-Vung Tau University (BVU) held the Opening Ceremony of the 2022-2023 school year on the top of Ho May Park.

On the afternoon of November 6, 2022, at Ho May Tourist Area (Vung Tau City), Ba Ria-Vung Tau University (BVU) held an opening ceremony for the 2022-2023 school year with more than 2,000 students, staff, lecturers. This is the first time BVU has held the Opening Ceremony of the new school year on a large scale in a very different location, bringing excitement to staff and students.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau University held a national seminar "Needs and solutions to develop high-quality human resources in Vietnam's seaports and logistics" and signed cooperation agreements with Vietnam leading Logistics institutes and enterprises.

During the seminar, BVU signed cooperation agreements with Vietnam Logistics Research and Development Institute (VLI), Global Logistics Management Institute (GLI), Tan Cang Human Resource Development Co., Ltd (STC), and Thi Vai General Port. The seminar is a premise for BVU to thrive in both quality and quantity of industries and specialties in the field of Logistics and Seaports in the coming time.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau University organized the National Conference "Accounting and Finance - Banking in the digital economy" and signed cooperation agreements with many banks, organizations, and large enterprises.

On June 11, 2022, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) organized the National Conference "Accounting and Finance - Banking in the digital economy". This is for experts, managers, and scientists to assess the status of the accounting and finance-banking fields, opportunities, challenges, and requirements, from which proposes directions and solutions. The seminar focused on current topics of interest: The role of digital transformation in business management, accounting - finance, and banking; Management of start-up businesses in the digital economy and Legal regulations on the digital economy.

Attending the seminar were presenters who are experts in the fields of Finance - Banking, Accounting, and Law and representatives of 12 organizations and enterprises that signed cooperation agreements with BVU.

Foreign universities and businesses awarded scholarships, recruited BVU students, and offered international cooperation.

On the morning of March 23, 2022, the delegation of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province led by Mr. Wu Chao Hung - President of the Chamber of Commerce, representing nearly 30 Taiwanese businesses visited and worked with Ba Ria-Vung Tau University. At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to organize an event of recruitment and scholarship awarding for BVU students in April 2022 with the participation of nearly 30 Taiwanese businesses.

BVU students gained achievements at the National Student Science and Technology Awards

The contest is organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Vietnam Union of Science & Technology Associations. At the final round, the project of BVU students excellently won 2 awards.

BVU students won gold medal at the national Vovinam championship

Sam Thuy Boi Nhu, a student majoring in accounting, won the Gold Medal at the 8th National Strong Team Vovinam Championship in 2022. Over the past years, BVU students have continuously won high prizes at Vovinam competitions for students - strong teams nationwide and in Southeast Asia.
