NHG’s universities reduce tuition during the Covid-19 season

Always accompanying, supporting and sharing difficulties with students, in the current stressful situation of the Covid-19 season, university group of NHG educational system including Hoa Sen University (HSU), Hong Bang International University (HIU), Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) and Gia Dinh University (GDU) decided to reduce tuition for students.

The Covid-19 pandemic is directly affecting the economy and many families' income, resulting that tuition is considered as a pressure on students and relatives. With the support from NHG, 4 universities in the system decided to reduce 20% of tuition for all regular students attending the schools.

4 universities of NHG educational system reduce 20% of tuition for students

Accordingly, Hoa Sen University decided to support 20% reduction of tuition for students registering for the second semester, academic year 2019-2020. The amount of tuition reduction will be deducted from the amount of course registration when students register the next semester. This amount will be refunded to students who have completed units of the training program.
Hong Bang International University also decided to reduce a maximum of 20% of the second semester tuition, applied to students who have paid tuition before 25/3/2020, including transition course, postgraduate. Final-year students will be refunded 20% of the tuition fee.

Associate.Prof. Dr. Ho Thanh Phong - President of HIU said: “The difficulty is affecting everyone and lecturers also have a reduced income, but the school still considers each situation to flexibly support and take care of lecturers so they could continue to accompany with us to overcome this difficult time”.

Meanwhile, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University reduced 20% of the 3rd semester tuition for regular university students, 50% off boarding fees for students.

Sharing about the decision to reduce tuition fees for students, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Loc said: “The 20% reduction in tuition fees will greatly affect the school's financial plan. However, with the increasingly complicated situation of the disease, which enormously affects the economy as well as income of students’ families, the school chooses to reduce tuition fees to share the burden with students".

On the side of Gia Dinh University, many students felt very happy and  when secure they received news that the school had reduced tuition. Specifically, the school has implemented a 20% reduction of tuition fees for the second semester (academic year 2019-2020) for all students when they pay tuition during this period.

Nguyen Hoang Nam – third-year student of GDU was excited: “My parents’ jobs were affected by the epidemic so the family economy was not as stable as before. Since the school made a 20% reduction in tuition, I was surprised and very grateful. This reduction helps to cover the cost of studying online at home, above all, it is more motivating and inspiring to study when the school cares for and supports students in front of many difficulties during the epidemic season.”

With the increasingly complicated epidemic’s situation, the absence time is lengthened, reducing tuition is a difficult but reasonable decision for schools. Group leaders, school’s board of management and teachers work days and nights to ensure that the teaching quality comes to you more effectively, to propose more programs supporting students and parents.

With this decision, hopefully students will learn effectively, will not let the disease prevent them from fulfilling their plans, ambitions, passions, etc. The group, schools and parents, students of the whole educational system of Nguyen Hoang Group will join hands, determine to overcome the pandemic.
