Student of UK Academy excellently wins the Silver of Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiads Contest (SASMO)

Tran Linh Khoa – student from grade 6.2, International School UK Academy (UKA) has excellently won the Silver of SASMO 2018 in Viet Nam.

SASMO is one of the Asian biggest math contests with more than 20.000 students joining in 2017. SASMO is held annually, creating a chance for excellent students who loves Mathematics to interact and compete with friends at the same ages from other countries like: Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Brunei, Hong Kong, China, Mongolia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, United Kingdom and Uzbekistan, … About 5.000 Vietnamese students from grade 2 to grade 10 joined SASMO 2018 and won 1.888 prizes.

Khoa is well-known for being an outstanding student in UKA. Besides being a good student in many years, he also won the First Prize of “NHG’s Young Scientist” and attended the recording of VTV Smart Kids. Not only great academic performance, Khoa has passionate for Taekwondo also and plays as a professional athlete. In addition, he actively participated in many extracurricular and volunteering activities of UK Academy.

From July 27th to 31st, Khoa will continue to participate in The International Junior Math Olympiad – IJMO in Thailand. IJMO is held annually in Asian countries, aims to create a chance for young students to interact and compete with international friends, as well as a firm platform for students to prove their Mathematic talents.
