The prime minister working at the Vietnam tourism human resource forum 2019 organized by HSU

On April 12nd, Hoa Sen University (HSU) in collaboration with HCMC Department of Tourism held the Vietnam tourism human resource forum 2019 with the topic of “Training Vietnam’s tourism human resources to develop a key economic sector” at the Thong Nhat hall.

Within the framework of the forum, there was a cooperation agreement signing between 9 universities in HCMC, including: Hoa Sen University; Hong Bang International University; HCMC University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology; University of Technology; University of Nguyen Tat Thanh; University of Economics; University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-HCM); Van Lang University; University of Economics – Law. Besides, there was a signing ceremony between Hoa Sen University and partners, such as: Accor group; Marriott group; Viettravel; Vinpearl; etc.

The prime minister was interested in training

Attending the forum there were the participation of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, politburo member, prime minister; Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, politburo member, secretary of HCMC Party committee; Mr. Phung Xuan Nha, minister of education and training.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, chairman of the HCMC people's committee took responsibility to host the forum. In adition, there were the presence of representatives of ministries, branches, chairmen of people's committee of Binh Duong; Dong Thap; Gia Lai; Kon Tum; Soc Trang; Tay Ninh; etc. Along with that are representatives of the department of tourism in Vietnam, experts in tourism, tourism training institutions, businesses, press media and sponsors: Vingroup - Vinpearl; Novaland group, Southern Airports Services joint stock company (SASCO); etc.

People are a prerequisite

The topics of discussion at the event include some content, such as: current situation and some viewpoint of training human resources for Vietnam tourism; policy making; training to meet the demand of the industry; effective application of new technologies in training.

In particular, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's directing speech attracted the attention of more than 300 guests. The prime minister welcomed the initiative idea to organize the forum to listen to different opinions on the quality of tourism human resources. The prime minister stated 3 "C’s"  to bring tourism into a breakthrough economy, including: “con nguoi” (people), “co so ha tang” (infrastructure) and “chien luoc” (strategy).

Coming with the same concern about quality human resources for tourism, Professor, Dr. Phung Xuan Nha, minister of education and training stated that there were many policies to encourage training. The ministry will create favorable conditions for university operation, encourage enterprises and university to create a training ecosystems.

The ministry will also encourage socialization for enterprises to participate in training, creating a chain of training between trainers and employees. Training institutions need to promote practice methods following international standards.
