Ba Ria - Vung Tau University appoints a new president

On May 28th, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) held a ceremony to announce the decision to appoint Professor Dr. Nguyen Loc as the new President of the university.

Attending the ceremony, there were representatives of the People's Committee, leaders of the DoET, the Board of Directors of Nguyen Hoang Group, the presidents of universities, colleges and high schools in the province, and specially more than 200 BVU lecturers.

The school is human-centered

Accordingly, Professor Dr. Nguyen Loc has just been recognized as the President of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University according to No. 1304/QD-UBND decision of the Chairman of Ba Ria - Vung Tau People's Committee dated May 24th, 2019.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Dr. Nguyen Loc shared about the desire to create an ideal education environment to the students: "A humane education philosophy of Nguyen Hoang Group is a solid foundation to build a school in which students are the center. Furthermore, the team of lecturers and staffs is the core force to develop more strongly in the future”.

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Loc graduated with a pressure engineering in metal processing from National Research University of Science and Technology (Moscow) and received his PhD. degree in theory and educational history in 1988 at the Russian Academy of Education. He was appointed Professor of Education in 2010.

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Loc has over 40 years of experience in education and training, held many national and international positions from teaching, research to education management, as well as in public and private education.

Currently, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Loc is a member of the Council of State Professors in Education.

With his enthusiasm and vision, Professor Dr. Nguyen Loc will be the new captain to bring the BVU ship to conquer the waves of knowledge in the global integration era.

The desire to reach the big ocean

At the ceremony, the new President of Ba Ria - Vung Tau University expressed his determination to develop the university in coming time with 3 orientations.

In particular, increasing the scale of training in quality and quantity is the first strategy. “The university will open new majors with high quality training programs, dual degree training, international affiliate programs, e-learning. At the same time, we will promote career guidance and skills training, foreign languages teaching for students, helping to increase the competitive advantage for students in the labor market. From the development in that quality, we can grow in quantity at the scale of the student numbers to welcome international students”, Dr. Nguyen Loc shared.

The second orientation is to professionalize and modernize the management model. The university will improve the structure to become more efficient in operation, finance and human resources. From then on, the lecturers and staffs can focus on their job comfortably in a favorable environment.

Last but not least, BVU will promote internationalization by acquiring the necessary quality accreditation certificates. Therefore, the university can develop academic activities and cooperation with international organizations. Besides, they can improve the quality of training as well as create basic conditions for the internationalization process.

Established in 2006, until now Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) has trained more than 15,000 engineers and bachelors, affirming its prestigious position by quality of training programs.

In the process of conquering the ocean of knowledge, BVU also appreciates the contribution of previous captains, especially Professor Dr. Hoang Van Kiem - Former President of BVU (2016-2018). He has built the foundation of applying training programs, improving the output quality of students, helping BVU students to be appreciated by domestic and foreign businesses.
