NHG and Microsoft co-operate to develop modern school system
Collaborating with Microsoft, NHG will work together to modernize the school system, so as to build a modern, practical and innovative learning environment.
On June 15, 2017, Microsoft and NHG signed a strategic cooperation agreement to accelerate the process of providing, consulting and implementing IT solutions and services in the field of turning schools in projects into the modern school systems. This agreement, when put into operation, will apply IT in many ways, thereby supporting the increased teaching and learning capacity of both teachers and students, optimizing deployment and using IT in the school systems.
Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Stefan Sjoestroem, Vice President of Microsoft Corporation; Mr. Vu Minh Tri, General Director of Microsoft Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Ba Quynh, Head of Governmental Customers and State-owned Enterprises, Microsoft Vietnam; Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet, Chairman of NHG; Ms. Hoang Nguyen Thu Thao, CEO of NHG; Mr. Dinh Quang Nuong, Deputy CEO of NHG and representatives of both sides.
According to the memorandum, the two sides will work together to develop key areas including:
(1) Standardize the collaboration system using Office 365 ProPlus.
(2) Deploy Microsoft Imagine Academy.
(3) Implement the Microsoft Imagine program.
(4) Connect to the Microsoft Education Community (MEC).
(5) Connect to the Microsoft Dynamics Academic Alliance (DynAA) system.
(6) Synchronize the IT platform towards the modern school model (e-School / University).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet, NHG Chairman, emphasized: "Currently, in Vietnam, when students join the labor force, there are still shortages of technical skills, computer science skills, even for students in technical and technology fields. This shortage of skills is causing students to lack the ability to access the labor market or find a job but are less able to develop their career and work efficiency. On the other hand, the lack of technology capacity in schools is a risk that lags behind teaching and learning, and the whole system loses its creativity. In addition, today, at our group office, NHG and Microsoft have exchanged a lot of content related to the application of technology in education, especially in the era of technology development as today. I expect Microsoft to give NHG total solutions to comprehensively administrating the schools, students, teachers, all aspects of the school ecosystem, whether students are at school or home, during school hours or outside the classroom."
On the Microsoft side, Mr. Stefan Sjoestroem, Vice president of Microsoft Corporation, said: "We are in the 4.0 industrial revolution. We have witnessed many industries change, disappear, many new industries, new concepts came into being. Sensors are installed everywhere, big data and artificial intelligence are mentioned much in this revolution. This is the moment when we break all the limits that have been set in the past, the time that honors creativity and change. The partnership between Microsoft and NHG will create values and share those values together. Together, we will empower individuals, people on the planet. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding does not only open the relationship but also share the same vision between the two groups. "
More specifically, when deployed, the cooperation agreement between the two groups will promote and expand cooperation, conduct programs and coordinated activities as: Deployment of Microsoft Imagine program & system; deployment Office 365 system; connecting NHG students to Microsoft Imagine Cup for them to unleash their passion for programming and building technology applications; supporting the development of the Microsoft Student Partner system at NHG universities; building modern school systems based on Microsoft's cloud computing platform; supporting the NHG teacher community and help them participate in the Microsoft Education Community (MEC) community; supporting NHG universities to participate in the Microsoft Dynamics Alliance program - Licensed Dynamics ERP solution suite for IT faculty for research purposes.
"Microsoft's mission is to continue working with the Global Education industry to perfect the 21st-century Modern Education model with specific initiatives, programs and actions. These supports over the years have helped leaders and education professionals bring innovative ideas based on applying technology into teaching and learning; connecting them to the Global Education community to share, multiply, thereby contributing to the transformation process. The Memorandum of Understanding with NHG will be a bright spot for the expansion of the Modern Education model through technology and a stepping stone for faster access to developed countries as well as to bring about greater effects to teaching and learning." said Mr. Vu Minh Tri, General Director of Microsoft Vietnam at the signing ceremony.
As part of the deal, Microsoft and NHG will jointly develop annual collaborative plans to accelerate the process of building modern schools on Microsoft's cloud computing platform. "We do not want to see our students being marginalized compared to their peers around the world." Both you and we would like to see our teachers qualified to share the global vision with their peers. Together, we can change. The concept of smart schools based on Microsoft's cloud technology supports the above mission of Nguyen Hoang, what we call human education.” Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet emphasized.
