HIU, Concordia university system (USA) sign agreement on training and student exchange
On April 4, the Institute of International Training and Cooperation of Hong Bang International University (HIU) held a working session and signed a cooperation agreement with 03 schools in the Concordia University System (USA).
At the event, MA. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan - Vice President of HIU introduced the school's activities and highly appreciated HIU's cooperation with CUS. He affirmed: "This meaningful signing ceremony will tighten the cooperative relationship between the two units, contributing to improving the quality of education with many meaningful joint training and academic research activities. The school wishes to set specific and practical training goals, create a comprehensive educational environment for students, and orient them to become citizens capable of lifelong learning with ideals and determination to create many positive impacts on social life.”
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong - Vice President of HIU represented the university in signing with 3 universities in the Concordia University System (USA), namely Concordia University, Irvine; Concordia University, Wisconsin; Concordia University, Chicago. The units agree on the following cooperation goals:
Develop curriculum of joint programs (2+2, 3+1, possibly 4+0), which may include online or fully hybrid models.
• Implement the "Faculty Labs" model - American students and professors visit Vietnam for 2-3 weeks to serve the community, integrate culture, etc.
• Implement teaching programs to improve English proficiency or train teachers;
• Collaboration in research projects;
• Coordinate to organizing academic programs and competitions for students.
CUS is a prominent educational corporation, consisting of six colleges and universities affiliated with the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Located throughout the United States, the colleges and universities offer more than 160 undergraduate programs and 50 graduate programs. Each school is independent and has its own president, faculty, and board of directors. CUS's strengths are business training, leadership, education, nursing, biomedicine, health care, psychology, and kinesiology.
