Hoa Sen University integrates FIATA certification into logistics curriculum
As Vietnam deepens its integration into regional and global economies, career opportunities in logistics are expanding rapidly. With a curriculum accredited by FIBAA and the integration of the internationally recognized FIATA (Switzerland) certification, Hoa Sen University (HSU) equips its students with a powerful “passport” to confidently enter this dynamic industry.

FIATA—the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations—is the world’s largest and most influential organization in freight forwarding. Representing over 40,000 companies across more than 150 countries, FIATA serves as the global voice of the logistics sector, setting professional standards and connecting logistics enterprises worldwide. It also offers educational certifications that validate professional competence and expertise in the industry.

Recognizing global integration trends, HSU is among the few institutions in Vietnam to embed the FIATA Diploma in Freight Forwarding directly into its Logistics and Supply Chain Management program. Students completing eight FIATA-standardized, English-taught core modules will graduate with both a bachelor’s degree and the prestigious FIATA Diploma—an internationally valid credential highly valued by global employers.

Vietnam’s logistics industry is experiencing robust growth, with the market estimated at $40–42 billion annually (according to the Vietnam Logistics Business Association—VLA). Logistics has become a strategic link in the global supply chain, driven by Vietnam’s economic integration and favorable geoeconomic positioning. As a result, demand is rising for professionals with international certifications, technical knowledge, and foreign language proficiency.
According to HSU alumni, possessing international credentials like FIATA often gives graduates an edge in salary negotiations and hiring evaluations. The integration of this certification into HSU’s program eliminates the need for separate enrollment at authorized FIATA training centers, saving students both time and cost while accelerating their entry into the workforce.

Additionally, HSU’s Logistics and Supply Chain Management program has earned FIBAA accreditation—a rigorous European benchmark for academic quality, practical relevance, and instructional excellence. This recognition enhances students’ prospects for both employment and further studies abroad.

To qualify for the eight FIATA-designated modules, students must meet English proficiency standards set by the university (EIC6 level) or hold an IELTS certificate of 5.5 or higher. These academic and linguistic requirements ensure graduates are globally competent and professionally agile. As Bùi Thụy Thanh Tâm, HSU alumna and Sales Executive at Maersk—the world’s largest container shipping company—shared: “The program not only focuses on hard skills but also strengthens soft skills. These have helped me adapt quickly in real work settings.”

University selection is not only a crucial decision for students but also a matter of deep concern for their families. A high-quality academic program must provide both technical knowledge and hands-on experience to meet labor market demands. Achieving that requires more than theory or short-term effort—it calls for a well-planned roadmap, institutional support, and student initiative. After witnessing their children’s growth and achievements, many parents express deep satisfaction and confidence in choosing HSU.

In the competitive world of logistics, a solid academic foundation is no longer enough. By combining rigorous education with globally recognized credentials, Hoa Sen University affirms its role as a leading institution in Business and Management, empowering students to step into multinational corporations and global shipping giants confidently.
