Ba Ria - Vung Tau University appoints a new vice president to promote international cooperation

On July 15th, Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU) held a ceremony to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho as the new vice president of the university.

According to decision No. 1655 dated June 18th, 2019 of the chairman of the university board, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho will become the new vice president of BVU. He is responsible for some duties according to regulations of the university and assignment of the president. The duration of holding the vice president position will follow the official term of the president.

Attending the ceremony, there were Associate Professor Dr. Thai Ba Can - Deputy CEO of Nguyen Hoang Group (NHG); Mr. Tran Van Khanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of BVU, Professor Dr. Nguyen Loc - President of BVU, Dr. Vu Van Dong and Mr. Le Van Toan (vice president); BVU lecturers, staff and students.

Contribution brings happiness

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho expressed his honor while he was trusted by NHG and the board of directors, lecturers, and BVU staff.

The new vice president shared: “Taking this position means that I have responsibility for NHG, for the university board, staff, lecturers and for the future of students as well”. He supposed to put his faith in NHG because they “had chosen the Humane philosophy as the focus for comprehensive human development". In addition, he also saw the great potential of BVU so that he appreciated enthusiastic and talented staff, lecturers there.

Giving the master plan for the future of BVU, he intended to standardize the training programs of BVU towards the training of prestigious universities around the world; strengthen international training cooperation; improve scientific research activities of lecturers and students; improve students' English language skills right from their first academic year.

He believed that the result of his contribution will bring happiness to people in the working environment there; and the happiness of everyone is also his own happiness.

Promote international cooperation

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho is a former vice president of Van Hien University (HCMC). He has experience in international English teaching at Suranaree Technical University (Thailand), English teaching at Gyeongju University (South Korea) and so on. Until now, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho has published 30 science articles in domestic and foreign journals, including 3 articles in ISI (The Information Sciences Institute) and 1 article in Scopus journal. In addition, Ascociate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho also published some English textbooks and monographs for foreign language students.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Loc – President of BVU on behalf of the university board, the staff, lecturers and students of the university welcomed and thanked Ascociate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho for his love to become an important member of BVU. He appreciated Associate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho for immediately starting to work on testing the quality of education and training, enrollment, international cooperation, etc.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Loc expressed his belief that the new vice president would make a great contribution to the development of BVU's education, training, scientific research and international cooperation.
