Gia Dinh University announced the new President and Board of Management
On October 23rd, Gia Dinh University held the announcement ceremony of the board of management and the new president of Gia Dinh University in the conference hall. The leaders of Department of Internal Affairs, education and training, of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Hoang Group’s board of leaders, principles of many universities in Ho Chi Minh City, nearly 300 lecturers and students had attended.
The ceremony had announced the decision to recognize the board of management and president of the term 2018 - 2023 as well as opened the new 2018 – 0219 academic year.
Accordingly, Gia Dinh University officially joined the Nguyen Hoang Group with strong investment and development orientation, becoming the third member of the university system after Hong Bang University (HIU) and Ba Ria - Vung Tau University (BVU).
In addition, Dr. Ha Huu Phuc, former director of the Ministry of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh City, officially took the position of president of Gia Dinh University.
He was also a senior investigator and deputy president of the Post-graduate Training and Enhancement training department of the University of the People's Police, and former deputy chief inspector of the Ministry of Education and Training.
According to Dr. Ha Huu Phuc, Gia Dinh University will develop following the application-oriented university model. "With a multi-disciplinary background, Gia Dinh University will expand its majors in law, economics, social sciences, and technology for bachelors, masters, and doctorates.
By 2035, Gia Dinh University will become a prestigious center of training and scientific research in the area. Fifty percent of the school's curriculum will be taught in English with 30% foreign lecturers and 10-15% international student population.
Reportedly, the school has completed the sourcing of human resources for the development requirements in Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi District. There are 61 lecturers and 1842 students.
