HIU launching the first Indian Study Center in HCMC
On the occasion of his visit to Hong Bang International University (HIU) on the morning of May 15th, Mr. Pham Sanh Chau – Ambassador of Vietnam to India, Nepal and Bhutan participated in the launching ceremony of the Indian Study Center at HIU.
This is a unit under Hong Bang International University (HIU), the first Indian study center in HCMC and the second of the whole country (the first one is under the National Academy of Politics, Hanoi).

Promote education cooperation between the two nations
The center is a place to study theoretical and practical issues about India, relations between Vietnam and India, as well as between India and other countries in the world to develop the training of leadership, management and scientific research for HIU lecturers. In addition, the main task of the center is to promote education cooperation between the two nations through activities, such as: awarding scholarships, providing jobs for HIU students after graduation and strengthening lecturers – students – PhD students exchange programs.

Mr. Pham Sanh Chau said that choosing Nguyen Hoang Group (NHG) and HIU as the partners to establish the Indian Study Center has been based on many factors, in which: “the prestige and training quality of NHG, which is affirmed by the comprehensive education system full of grades and international programs, creates supporting resources and appropriate condition to well implement the education cooperation programs between the two nations”.
Enhance job opportunities for students
Accompanying Mr. Pham Sanh Chau in the visit was the representatives of HCL Technologies – one of the three largest technology group in India with a worldwide network of R&D, innovation labs and delivery centers working in 44 countries.

At the meeting, HCL expressed their desire to establish a delivery center in Vietnam with a scale of 10,000 employees, of which 60% will be recruited from graduated information technology students. “With the introduction of Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, we have found that HIU is a very potential partner to support the recruitment for our upcoming project because the training program at HIU is competed international and 100% using English, ensuring professional quality and communication skills for student to work in a multinational corporate environment”, shared by Mr. Sanjay Gupta – Executive Vice President of HCL Technologies.
In addition, HCL also introduced engineer training program for HIU students through short-term courses about IT services to support users, Cloud algorithms, data analysis, network security and innovative technology platforms helping create new products, etc.

In the end of the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Thanh Phong highlighted the effect of cooperation between the two nations: “By establishing the first Indian Study Center in HCMC, there will be convenience in promoting cooperation with prestigious partners like HCL Technologies in the future and benefits for HIU students in not only ensuring job opportunities after graduation, but also opening doors of international integration, helping students strongly develop on their career pathway”.
