NHG teachers received JA Ourselves global teaching certificates

Following the agreement signed between the NHG and JA Vietnam in August 2017, on November 8, 24 NHG teachers were trained by JA specialists to teach JA Ourselves course. After the training course, all NHG teachers are fully qualified to teach the JA Ourselves Global.

With friendly and familiar learning topics such as “The First Coin", "Lessons of Thrift”, "Goods or Services", "A Frugal Pig" "Give and Take"... The JA Ourselves program introduces to students an understanding of finance and social learning goals at elementary level, as well as provides basic knowledge of personal finance and choices consumers make to meet their needs and desires. The program also helps them understand the definitions of the roles money plays in society and provides them with practical knowledge of how to earn, save and spend money wisely.

Within the training program framework, participating teachers are introduced to the Vietnamese version of JA Ourselves Global which was designed to suit Vietnamese cultural and educational environment: teaching approaches adjusted to different ages; textbooks divided into contents, activities and exercises to reinforce the lessons; lesson contents built into a thorough story, and class length cut down to suit Vietnamese students’ absorptive capacity. JA experts also gave detailed instructions on how to design lesson plans and contents-activities, summarize lessons and help students use effective learning logs as well.

In January 2017, JA will continue to train and qualify JA Economics for Success & JA Career Success programs for the NHG teachers.
