NHG and LRF provide free health examinations for 2,000 underprivileged people
Nearly 2,000 orphans, the disabled and poor people in Ho Chi Minh City were given free health examinations and medicine in Community Health Day on December 11, 2022.
The Community Health Day was jointly implemented by Little Roses Foundation (LRF) in collaboration with the HCMC Sponsoring Association for People with Disabilities and Orphans, Nguyen Hoang Group (NHG).
300 doctors and medical professionals voluntarily works for public health
From the early morning, many people gathered at the UK Academy Binh Thanh School, where the Community Health Day was held. There are over 300 health experts, doctors from many hospitals in HCMC, dentists of the Ho Chi Minh City Odonto-Stomatology Association, and more than 200 volunteers who are students of Hong Bang International University, Hoa Sen University, Gia Dinh University, officials, staff and parents of UK Academy Binh Thanh to join the program.
Nearly 2,000 difficult situations, including orphans, the disabled children, poor students and poor people in the society... were provided general health check-ups, eye exams, dental care and musculoskeletal care. In addition, in the list of examinations prescribed by doctors and at the request of patients, there are also chest X-ray, ultrasound, electrocardiogram and gynecological examinations. After consultations with doctors, patients are given free medicine if they need treatment.
Together build the civilization of love
Ms.Tuyet said she was truly happy as the Community Health Day is an opportunity to get annual physical exams. “Older adults, including me, may suffer from various kinds of ailments. Thus, when we are examined and consulted by doctors, they will give us advice for treatment. They are very nice and they take care of me wholeheartedly,” Tuyet said.
Besides medical exams and treatment, the senior also got free haircuts and received Christmas gifts from benefactors.
Ngo Kim Vang, 9, who lives at Binh Trieu Development Center in Thu Duc City, said this was the first time she has done general health examination. “I am really excited because of the delicious breakfast and free healthcare check-up,” Vang said.
Being a first-time volunteer, Truong Hoang Phuc Nhi, a 9th grade student of UKA Binh Thanh, said: “My initial feeling is emotional since I can contribute my efforts to help people in difficult circumstances.”
Tran Thuy Vi, a dental-majoring student of Hong Bang International University, was also one of volunteers of the program. Thuy Vi said, “I am quite nervous and happy when I see many people participating the Community Health Day. But I will try my best to support the patient.”
The meaningful program was also an opportunity for students of NHG to foster the spirit of mutual love and sharing with difficult situations. From there, students can have the motivation and the right learning attitude and constantly spread their love to the community.

In the first year of operation, LRF will spend VND 73 billion for educational support activities such as scholarship programs, community education programs and healthcare activities like health check-ups, consultations, emergency relief programs, etc.
